Overview

Join to apply for the SEN / SEND Tutor, Cheshire role at Targeted Provision.

Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs required in Cheshire. Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support.

We are on a mission to transform the quality of education provided to young people with SEN (Special Education Needs) / SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities) and other needs such as SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties) and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties).

We are looking for SEN / SEND tutors with a genuine passion for transforming the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners in Cheshire. At Targeted Provision our mission is to raise the standard of educational support offered to vulnerable young people in the UK. You will be supported throughout every placement by our team of SEN / SEND Support Specialists.

This role is ideal for qualified SEN / SEND teachers who are eager to work via 1:1 tutoring with children and young people with a variety of learning needs, in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed manner to raise engagement and improve their educational journey.

SEN / SEND Tutor role

* Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs referred to Targeted Provision
* Work with learners referred by local authorities and schools, providing support in their educational and social-emotional journey
* Deliver flexible, holistic, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring


Tasks and responsibilities

* Plan each tutoring/mentoring session
* Provide holistic and engaging sessions that meet individual needs and progress educational and social-emotional goals
* Complete lesson reports and provide feedback on progress


Requirements

* Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years of teaching experience
* Experience working with learners with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other needs
* Understanding of safeguarding processes
* Enhanced DBS (assistance available to obtain at cost if needed)
* Two professional references
* Based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, including for remote/online assignments

It is a strict requirement that you promote the health, safety and wellbeing of children and young people and follow safeguarding policies at all times.


Employment Status

* Engagement as a Worker for short-term opportunities as they arise
* Contract for service with PAYE payment
* No set amount of work or expenses coverage
* Our insurance covers the work you do for us
* Not a self-employed tutoring/teaching position
