We're looking for a proactive and collaborative Mobile Facilities Maintenance Engineer to help keep our buildings safe, reliable and efficient. You'll play a key role in maintaining essential systems, supporting projects and ensuring a positive experience for everyone who uses our facilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain and improve all mechanical and electrical systems across our facilities/asset portfolio.
* Deliver planned and reactive maintenance to keep operations running smoothly.
* Oversee quality checks for new installations and ensure compliance with standards.
* Contribute to risk management and develop practical solutions to recurring issues.
* Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues and contractors.
* Respond promptly to urgent maintenance needs as part of an on‑call rota.
* Make cost‑effective decisions on repairs, replacements and redesigns.
* Support delivery of projects that meet safety, regulatory and financial goals.
* Promote health and safety and best practice in all activities.
* Work flexibly between designated site locations in the South East region (including Cardiff and Newport) after training completion.
* Be on the out‑of‑hour emergency call‑out rota every 4‑5 weeks.
* Have a clean driver’s licence to use the company transit van provided.
Who You'll Work With
* Internal: Key stakeholder and property users; Health & Safety, Operations, Procurement and Finance teams; All levels of management within DCWW; Capital Project/Programme Delivery Teams.
* External: Local Authorities including Planning Departments and Highways Departments; Framework suppliers and partners; Regulators (NRW/EA/DWI/Ofwat/HSE/UKWIR/Water UK/Consumer Council for Water Wales).
Key Requirements
* Qualified in Mechanical, Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering.
* Experience in facilities maintenance or engineering.
* A range of project and people‑management skills, combined with strong experience in the delivery of maintenance & reliability improvement projects.
* An ability to think strategically in terms of lifetime costs; identifying a range of possible solutions and presenting a coherent rationale for a recommended action.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a multinational‑disciplined engineering environment while maintaining effective day‑to‑day delivery of services.
* The ability to meet tight regulatory and project deadlines.
