Job Description
New Directions are recruiting for a caring and reliable SEND Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil on a 1:1 basis at a primary school in Altrincham. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with children and wants to make a real difference day-to-day in a supportive school environment.
This role is due to start as soon as possible and will continue for the rest of the academic year, with the opportunity to move onto a longer-term or permanent contract for the right individual.
The Role
• Provide tailored 1:1 support for Year 4 child with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND)
• Assist with classroom activities, ensuring the child remains engaged and supported
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow tailored support plans
• Support the pupil’s learning, emotional regulation, and engagement in lessons
• Encourage social interaction and independence where appropriate
The Candidate
• Has a calm, patient, and resilient approach
•Enjoys working with children and supporting those with additional needs
• Has strong communication and teamwork skills
•Has experience with ASC and/or challenging behaviour (desirable but not essential)
•Is reliable, flexible, and committed to making a positive impact
