Actuarial Manager
The Ageas UK Actuarial Department is looking to hire an experienced GI Reserving Actuary to play a key role in the Reserving Team. The team is starting exciting transformation projects to modernise our processes. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people and managing projects. An interest in coding, particularly developing processes in Python, is preferable.
The team is responsible for Reserving, forecasting performance, and providing insights to stakeholders to support business decisions. They are crucial for understanding performance amid changing market conditions. If you enjoy analyzing claims drivers and explaining them to the business, and prefer varied daily tasks, this role might suit you.
The candidate will work with colleagues across the business, assisting Senior Actuarial Managers and the Chief Actuary. Proven experience in preparing and presenting actuarial analyses to stakeholders is essential.
Main Responsibilities:
* Oversee quarterly and monthly reserve reviews, prepare detailed reports, and conduct claims-related analyses.
* Support department transformation projects and strategic priorities.
* Lead claims analysis to generate insights and communicate results effectively.
* Review team members work and facilitate clear communication of findings.
* Potential for line management of analysts, providing feedback and supporting staff development.
Skills & Experience Required:
* Extensive knowledge of general insurance and actuarial principles, including reserving and pricing.
* Proactive project management skills, including delegation and prioritisation.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously as a confident self-starter.
* Excellent communication skills, with experience in presenting technical reports to non-actuarial stakeholders.
* Effective management and mentoring abilities, leading by example and managing performance.
