Overview
Based in Kettering NN16, a leading, established and highly successful provider of mechanical and electrical installation services to commercial and industrial buildings seek the solid appointment of a skilled Mechanical Project Engineer from an M&E / Building Services electrical installation projects background. Those with M&E installations experience in commercial and or industrial environments are of serious interest as a Mechanical Project Engineer or similar. We are looking to make an immediate appointment for an important ongoing project.
Candidates highly sought after are those naturally from an M&E / Building Services background, ideally with direct working experience in the project delivery of mechanical installations you would expect to find in commercial and industrial settings. Those with any hospital / healthcare buildings Mechanical services installation are highly sought after; this is not essential for the role though. You will be responsible for supporting and enhancing the delivery of a project from a technical aspect.
Responsibilities
* Support and enhance the delivery of a project from a technical aspect. This role reports to a Project Manager or Contracts Manager and is site based in Kettering to support the project requirements.
* Familiarise yourself with all the project details, design and specifications whilst collating technical submittals detailed by the Contracts / Project Manager and manage this process, liaising daily with suppliers, Site Supervisors, Project Managers, EHSQ Advisors and Subcontractors.
* Manage site QA/QC procedures including the issuing of weekly and monthly QA/QC reports, and manage, review and coordinate drawings when requested.
* Advise and guide sub-contracted staff on all technical aspects of projects and raise any technical requests for information required to complete the mechanical installations.
* Ensure compliance with all site and project requirements, including operational health and safety obligations; perform troubleshooting to identify problems and apply corrective actions while managing document control to keep logs up to date.
* Create handover packs and test packs for systems installed, ready for handover.
Qualifications and Experience
* Bachelor Degree Level in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or a Mechanical building services trade background in a similar discipline; comprehensive understanding of tendering processes.
* Direct experience in M&E / Building Services installations in commercial and/or industrial environments; ideally with project delivery exposure.
* Working knowledge of MS Project, MS Office Suite; willingness to learn and adapt to different elements of a project.
