An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Engineering team for three Wheel Maintenance Technicians to join our Clacton Depot.
The Role
We are looking for Wheel Maintenance Technicians to help us carry out Post Tyre Turning checks, minor modifications and activities on the Stadler fleet as well as providing support to the depot utilities function.
Key Responsibilities
• Carry out Post Tyre Turning Checks (PTTC) on the Stadler fleet in accordance with Stadler VMI, local procedures, and Safe Systems of Work (SSOWs)
• Work a shift-based role, including travel to other supporting GA tyre-turning activities prior to the introduction of the Clacton Wheel Lathe
• Accurately complete PTTC documentation and recordings in line with Stadler and GA requirements
• Act as Duty Site Manager when required to provide roster cover
• Undertake minor adjustments and repairs within technical competence, report defects in plant, tools, or equipment, and support the provision of safe, compliant plant and works equipment at Clacton and Crown Point
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
What We Are Looking for:
• The ideal candidate will have an engineering apprenticeship, city and guilds (or comparable) qualifications, and appropriate experience.
• Experience in fleet maintenance and operational tasks, with knowledge of asset management, information systems, and technical/operational data
• Proven capability to perform safety-critical work with a high awareness of safety standards, procedures, and compliance
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in operational environments
• Have a friendly, approachable demeanor with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
• Are calm under pressure, able to think on their feet, and able to handle various situations
• Possess a “can-do” attitude and enjoy working as part of a team
• Have team spirit and bring your unique self to strengthen our team and foster a positive work environment.

With a team of around 3,000 colleagues, we operate 134 stations throughout Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, and Suffolk.
