Total Placement Service - Business Support Officer


Role Responsibility

The Total Placement Service (TPS) Business Team is responsible for administering contracts and payments for a wide range of accommodation placements for children in care and care leavers.

The team is looking to recruit to a full time, TPS Business Support Officer, initially on a fixed term basis until 31 March 2026, to deliver a range of business, administration, financial and system services for the purchase of resources for children and families.

The post holder will be responsible for the maintenance of business and financial systems, providing specialist advice and resolving queries.

The ideal candidate must possess the following experience and key skills:

* High motivation and the ability to work independently
* Excellent organisational, administrative, and communication skills
* Ability to meet strict deadlines and targets, prioritise tasks and plan effectively
* Excellent business and financial administration including use of databases
* Ability to monitor and process accurate financial records
* Ability to create and maintain complex spreadsheets
* Ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business and be able to work under pressure
* Ability to investigate and resolve complex queries
* Awareness of Data Protection and confidentiality issues.

The closing date for applications is3rd August 2025.

Online assessment will be on the 11th August 2025.

Interviews will be face-to-face and take place on the 19th and 20th August 2025.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
