We are looking for a Consultant Obstetrician to join our tertiary hospital team.
Our maternity service has a variety of specialist clinics, including mental health, vulnerable service users, twins, preterm birth, small baby and Rainbow. The services are multi‑professional and include our specialist midwives.
Responsibilities
* Provide consultant labour suite cover.
* Lead elective caesarean lists.
* Conduct ward rounds and maternity triage.
* Cover assessment unit and antenatal clinic duties.
* Participate in a two‑tier gynaecology on‑call rota: one consultant covers emergency gynaecology at the QMC campus, the other covers complex surgery (including oncology) at City and maternity on both campuses in the event a gynaecologist is required to support the obstetric team.
* Assist with the two‑tier gynaecology on‑call rota and manage complex surgical support.
* Prepare and review the draft Job Plan, incorporating consultant input and aligning with the Trust’s clinical priorities.
Employment Flexibility
Consultants who are unable to work full‑time for personal reasons may be considered for a part‑time post. The job content will be modified on a personal basis in consultation with the Trust and consultant colleagues.
