Patient Pathway Coordinator

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Patient Pathway Team as an integral part of the Oncology and Haematology Department. You will provide a comprehensive administrative service, supporting the reception booking team, consultants, clinicians, CNS and Pharmacy teams and act as a central point of communication for patients and staff.
In this role, you will develop a detailed understanding of pathways for both routine elective and cancer patients, ensuring you know where each patient is in their journey. You will be responsible for providing administrative support, which includes managing correspondence, appointments, and records, ordering diagnostic tests, and liaising with consultants to minimise delays in care. This is a busy and dynamic department where there is always something new to learn - we can promise you will never be bored!
Main duties of the job
* Provide comprehensive administrative support to ensure smooth operational activity across the service.
* Manage patient correspondence, appointments, and waiting lists, including RTT data entry and monitoring.
* Type and format clinical letters and documentation accurately and promptly.
* Liaise with consultants, nurses, and the multidisciplinary team to support effective patient care.
* Use hospital systems such as Cerner Millennium to maintain accurate electronic records.
* Handle incoming enquiries and correspondence, prioritising and escalating issues where necessary.
* Assist with referrals, diagnostic test ordering, and preparation of medical records to minimise delays in patient pathways.
Person Specification
Education
* Educated to GCSE, O-Level or equivalent
* Typing experience
Knowledge
* Demonstrable experience and knowledge of office and administrative processes.
* Understanding of RTT and patient pathway.
* Understanding of Healthcare process
