Responsibilities
Safety Focus
* Ensure compliance with safety standards as required by law and company policy
* Ensure the safety of employees on the shift
* Support safety programs and conduct or ensure safety training is completed
Production Focus
* Ensure operations run at maximum efficiency and quality by coordinating efforts of employees within the shift
* Monitor operators and equipment to identify issues early and address them promptly
* Contribute to continuous improvement and participate in plant meetings and projects
Quality Control
* Perform quality checks to meet process requirements
* Identify non-conformities and coordinate corrective actions
* Control production volumes
About You
Required qualifications and experience:
* Recognized engineering apprenticeship or equivalent
* ONC/HNC in mechanical or production engineering
* Welding, burning, fabrication, pipefitting, and erection skills
* Manual handling, lifting, slinging
* Operation of MEWP, FLT, Telehandlers
* Knowledge of relevant H&S legislation
* Bench skills and general machining
* Fitting techniques, hydraulics, pneumatics
* Overhaul of pumps, gearboxes, material handling systems
* Knowledge of quarrying and minerals processing equipment
* Proficiency in MS Office
* Fault finding and analytical skills
* Good communication and teamwork skills
