Job Description Mechanical Project Engineer Location: Hartlepool, County Durham Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 Excellent Benefits Are you ready to take ownership of engineering projects that shape the future of a major industrial site? We’re looking for a Mechanical Project Engineer to lead and support a range of capital and revenue projects. You’ll be instrumental in developing long-term engineering strategies, implementing new technologies, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. From feasibility studies to commissioning, your work will span the full project lifecycle. What you’ll be doing: Develop and deliver engineering projects aligned with site strategy. Lead safety studies including risk assessments, HAZOP and FMEA. Ensure compliance with ISO/IEC, EN and BS standards. Support change management and documentation processes. Collaborate across departments and contribute to continuous improvement. What you’ll need: HNC/HND with 7 years’ experience or a degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3 years in an industrial setting. Strong CAD skills (2D/3D modelling). Analytical mindset with good computing and statistical skills. Excellent communication and report writing abilities. Awareness of CDM regulations and project management techniques.
