Requirement for an Electrical Design Engineer to deliver high value protection and control schemes for electricity distribution projects, based in Colchester with good rates of pay. You will be proficient in: * Design of control and protection schemes for HV and EHV substations production of main connections and protection drawings * Calculation of protection settings * Cable calculations up to 132 kV * Substation design experience at 11 kV, 33 kV or 66 kV or 132 kV * Design experience of up to 400 kV would be ideal but not a prerequisite * Understanding the electrical aspects of power supplies, substations or * Cabling/overhead line projects from LV up to and including 132 kV * Power systems studies, such as load flow and short circuit studies Ideally you will also be aware of: * Electricity Network Regulations / National Electricity Registration Scheme (NERS) requirements * DNO and IDNO design standards and approval processes * ENA Engineering Recommendations * Grid code for protection settings * Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) requirements in the electricity industry * Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 * General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Information Security requirements You should have the following skills: * Confident, motivated and dynamic * Versatility – able to turn your hand to a wide range of proposals ...
