An opportunity for an experienced Legal Secretary/Legal Assistant to join our well-established firm in Oxford has arisen. The successful candidate will ideally be a highly organised person with strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Outlook, Excel) who can demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail and has the ability to use initiative in a role that covers a variety of duties. Candidates should have a flexible approach to duties. Training will be given and the role offers potential for development dependant on candidate skills.
The Candidate must have experience working in a legal environment and work from the office in Oxford.
Responsibilities of the role would include, but are not limited to:
* Providing an excellent secretarial service across the department
* Accurate and timely Audio typing of correspondence and Court documents.
* Accurate and timely Copy typing
* Filing
* Telephone support/accurate message taking and forwarding
* Booking meetings/making appointments-recording appropriately
* Using existing systems, making detailed travel arrangements, advising accordingly
* Prioritising workload and notifying Head of Department of any problems regarding workflow
* Assisting secretarial/office team during peaks in workload
* Act as the point of contact for clients both over the telephone and in person
Knowledge & Skills:
* Previous similar experience – Advantageous but not essential
* IT Skills – Essential
