Job Title: CE Marking Consultant – Machinery Safety
Location: Great Hucklow, Derbyshire (or remote with occasional office attendance)
Contract: Permanent (Full-time or Part-time)
Hours: 37.5 per week (FTE)
Salary: £35,000 – £55,000 DOE
About the Role
We are seeking a Machinery Safety Consultant with expertise in CE/UKCA marking and compliance. This is a client-facing role where you will assess machinery, advise on legislation, and support organisations in achieving compliance. You will work on diverse projects across industries in the UK and internationally, with opportunities to contribute to training and thought leadership.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct examinations and assessments of machinery to identify deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
* Perform DSEAR assessments at client sites in the UK and worldwide.
* Guide clients on applying relevant legislation and standards to ensure product safety and compliance.
* Assist in the design and implementation of safety and quality procedures.
* Compile, evaluate, and prepare Technical Files.
* Research and interpret existing and emerging legislation and standards.
* Produce clear reports and communicate findings to clients (verbal and written).
* Deliver training courses and materials on machinery safety topics.
* Support business development through sales enquiries and contribute to marketing content.
* Work safely, providing risk assessments related to your activities as required.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Knowledge & Experience
* In-depth understanding of:
* EU Machinery Directive & Regulation and UK Machinery Legislation
* PUWER and in-service machinery requirements
* Machinery Risk Assessment techniques (EN ISO 12100)
* At least one Type C machinery safety standard (or equivalent)
* Experience with machinery guarding, electrical equipment, and safe access systems.
* (For control specialists) Knowledge of safety-related control systems and validation requirements.
