Position: Senior CAD Technician / Designer
Location: On-site, Warrington
Type: Full-time
We are looking for an experienced Senior CAD Technician / Designer to join our Warrington-based team. In this key role, you will be responsible for producing detailed 2D drawings for our canopy and roof glazing systems, supporting projects from design through to completion. Youll collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure all designs meet technical specifications, industry standards, and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Create accurate and detailed 2D CAD drawings (AutoCAD) for bespoke canopy and roof glazing systems
Modify and finalise designs based on project changes and client feedback
Ensure all drawings comply with relevant industry regulations and internal standards
Liaise with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify design requirements
Provide technical input and troubleshooting support during the design and installation phases
Maintain up-to-date project documentation and design records
What Were Looking For:
Minimum 5 years experience in a CAD design/draughting role within the construction industry
Strong 2D AutoCAD skills (3D is an advantage but not essential)
Background in sectors such as structural framing (timber, steel, or aluminium), curtain walling, roofing, or cladding rather than product design, interiors, or visual design
Solid understanding of construction methods and materials
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Confident communicator, both written and verbal including over the phone
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Relevant qualifications in design, engineering, or a related technical field
Desirable Skills:
Familiarity with polycarbonate or aluminium systems
Experience supporting installation or on-site teams
Knowledge of industry compliance standards related to construction and roofing
