Your new roleAs Senior Quantity Surveyor/QS, you will take a leadingmercial role on major civil engineering projects from pre‑construction through to final account. You will be responsible for ensuring robust cost management, contractualpliance, and effectivemercial reporting across your project portfolio. Working closely with project managers, engineers, and the widermercial team, you will provide strategic input to drive value, manage risk, and support successful project delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Managing allmercial aspects of civil engineering projects, including procurement, subcontract management, valuations, and cost forecasting
2. Preparing and reviewing tender documentation, bills of quantities, and pricing schedules
3. Leading the assessment and negotiation of variations, claims, andpensation events
4. Ensuringpliance with NEC contracts and internalmercial procedures
5. Producing accurate monthly cost reports, cashflow forecasts, andmercial updates for senior management
6. Supporting juniormercial staff and contributing to continuous improvement across themercial function
7. Building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
What you'll need to succeedTo be successful in this role, you will have:
8. A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
9. Significant experience in amercial role within the civil engineering sector, ideally Marine exp.
10. Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts
11. Proven ability to managemercial performance onplex, multi‑discipline projects
12. Excellent negotiation,munication, and analytical skills
13. A proactive, solutions‑focused approach and the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment
