Data Lead – Azure Data Transformation (CPG / Supply Chain)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Data Lead to drive a critical enterprise data transformation programme for a global food manufacturing and supply chain organisation.
This role sits at the heart of a major digital transformation, enabling data readiness across SAP S/4HANA, MES, planning, and analytics platforms, and delivering a unified data foundation using Microsoft Azure technologies.
You will lead a hybrid onsite-offshore analytics pod, acting as the primary onsite data authority responsible for delivery execution, stakeholder alignment, and data quality assurance across complex enterprise systems.
This is a high-impact leadership role focused on data migration, integration, governance, and analytics enablement at scale.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead an active enterprise data workstream from delivery through to go-live
* Define and execute the data readiness strategy across testing, cutover, and operations
* Manage master, transactional, and operational data across SAP S/4HANA, MES, and supply chain systems
* Drive data cleansing, mapping, transformation, and validation activities
* Ensure end-to-end data quality, consistency, and governance
* Lead a 4-person offshore delivery pod (Data Engineers, BA, Developers)
* Act as primary onsite liaison for business stakeholders (Finance, Supply Chain, Plant Ops)
* Manage dependencies, risks, and escalations across programme workstreams
* Engage with vendors and implementation partners
* Support data platform build-out using Azure Data Lake / ADF / Power BI / Fabric
* Ensure readiness for cutover, testing cycles, and production deployment
Essential Skills & Experience
* Strong background in Data Engineering / Data Management / Data Migration
* Proven leadership in large-scale transformation programmes
* Hands-on experience with:
* Azure Data Lake (ADLS Gen2)
* Azure Data Factory / Fabric
* SQL
* Power BI
* Experience integrating SAP S/4HANA and enterprise manufacturing systems
* Strong understanding of:
* Data governance
* Data lifecycle management
* Data quality frameworks
* Experience managing onsite–offshore delivery models
* Strong stakeholder management across business and IT domains
* Excellent delivery governance, risk, and escalation management skills
Desirable Experience
* CPG / food manufacturing / supply chain domain experience
* Experience with plant cutover / go-live data readiness
* Agile POD-based delivery experience
* Data lake / modern analytics architecture exposure
* Knowledge of GDPR and cloud data compliance
