Offer description

• Join a people-focused, mutual organisation committed to fair and accurate pricing • A rare opportunity to combine hands-on technical pricing work with people management, developing risk pricing models whilst leading and supporting a small team • Work from home 80% of the time, with the remaining 20% spent in Stratford-upon-Avon, where you can enjoy our welcoming and modern office setting About the role: Working in Pricing at NFU Mutual feels genuinely different. With a clear focus on customers rather than shareholders, the team’s work has real impact - supporting local communities, protecting livelihoods, and helping our UK wide Agency Network deliver exceptional service. Our Pricing team is central to how we support our customers, and its role is becoming even more crucial. The team is now at the heart of one of NFU Mutual’s most significant transformation programmes, shaping how pricing will operate in the future to ensure fair, insight driven outcomes. To deliver this transformation, the team is expanding and creating exciting opportunities to join at a pivotal moment. This is a rare chance to influence a high profile, business wide initiative where your work will be visible, valued and acted on. By working closely with colleagues across the business, you’ll play an important role in shaping NFU Mutual’s future. Beyond the transformation, you’ll join a Pricing team committed to continuous improvement, offering ongoing opportunities to grow, add value and make a real difference. If you want to drive meaningful transformation while developing your own career, now is the ideal time to join us. As a Risk Pricing Consultant, you’ll play a key role in developing and delivering an independent risk price across a defined product range, ensuring accurate risk cost, strong premium performance and clear insight into the drivers of cost inflation. Working closely with colleagues across the Pricing community, Claims, IT and Modelling, you will design and implement effective rating logic, build and refine risk pricing models, and support governance processes to maintain the highest levels of model quality and integrity. You’ll also contribute to shaping product, underwriting and pricing decisions by providing robust technical input, monitoring regulatory and market forces, and helping to drive continuous improvement. This role offers the opportunity to operate at the heart of our pricing strategy, with visibility across senior stakeholders, involvement in innovative projects and the chance to make a meaningful impact in a collaborative and supportive environment. About you: You’re an experienced pricing professional with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear insights and recommendations. You communicate confidently with a range of stakeholders, building strong relationships and positively influencing thinking. You’re comfortable challenging assumptions, simplifying complexity for others and adapting quickly in an evolving environment. You prioritise effectively, manage your time well and bring a proactive, solutions focused mindset. As a people centred leader with proven experience in managing and developing others, you foster growth and collaboration while consistently delivering work with precision and strong technical rigour. You will also be able to demonstrate the following: • Significant experience in a general insurance pricing function with direct responsibility for pricing outputs • Proficiency with pricing software (Emblem, Radar, R or similar) • Extensive experience building and using risk pricing models and setting technical rates • Strong data and trend analysis capability • Prior experience in personal or commercial property lines and/or direct online channels would be desirable. At NFU Mutual, we support an inclusive workplace and value all the differences that make us unique. We celebrate the creativity and innovation that comes from diverse perspectives and experiences and share a common vision of doing the right thing for our customers and employees. We recognise that some candidates may experience barriers during the recruitment process.
