Our client is seeking a dedicated Subject Access Request Officer to join their Governance / Information Governance Team in Bilston. * Position: Subject Access Request Officer (Information Governance)
* Contract Type: Temporary
* Hourly Rate: £18.26
* Working Pattern: Full Time (37 hours per week)
* Location: Civic Centre / Hybrid Working

What You\'ll Do
As a Subject Access Request Officer, you will play a key role in managing and responding to Subject Access Requests (SARs). Your responsibilities will include:
SAR Case Management
* Receive and manage SAR requests from data subjects or their representatives.
* Collaborate with service areas to locate and retrieve relevant personal data.
* Review, redact, and issue information while adhering to statutory deadlines.
Compliance and Legal Interpretation
* Apply relevant exemptions and ensure all responses meet legal standards.
* Maintain accurate records in the corporate SAR register for audit purposes.
Key Requirements
To thrive in this role, you should possess the following essential skills:
* In-depth knowledge of the Data Protection Act 2018, UK GDPR, and ICO guidance on SARs.
* Experience handling SARs in a local authority or regulated environment.
* Strong analytical and redaction skills with exceptional attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, case management systems, and redaction software tools.
Desirable Qualifications
* Experience with case management systems (e.g., Icase).
* Relevant Data Protection or Information Governance qualifications.
* Knowledge of Freedom of Information and Environmental Information Regulations.
