University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Nuclear Medicine Consultant to join our forward‑thinking team. The role is part of the comprehensive diagnostic imaging and molecular radiotherapy service, providing care to local and regional patients. You will support existing consultants and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality patient care.
Responsibilities
* Day‑to‑day running of the nuclear medicine department, including diagnostic nuclear medicine, PET CT scans, in/out patient care and day‑case molecular radiotherapy procedures.
* Engage directly with at least two MDTs.
* Develop new techniques and areas of interest within or beyond current practice.
* Supervise and educate radiology trainees, and support undergraduate training and teaching of other specialties as required.
Qualifications, Training & Experience
Essential Criteria
* MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
* MRCS / MRCP or equivalent.
* Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
* Competence in diagnostic nuclear medicine imaging, including SPECT CT and PET CT.
Desirable Criteria
* FRCR or equivalent.
* MRCP or equivalent.
* Eligibility for entry on the GMC Nuclear Medicine Specialist Register.
* MSc or equivalent.
* Competence in molecular radiotherapy.
* Publications in nuclear medicine journals.
* Clinical and education supervisor training.
* Fellowship in diagnostic nuclear medicine.
* Management/leadership training course.

* Audit and clinical governance experience.
Desirable Criteria
* Teaching skills – experience with computer‑based meetings, teaching and e‑learning.
* Research skills – publication of research articles and understanding of research methodology.
