Therapy Services administration are looking to appoint a highly motivated person to work within a busy Dietitian Department for Gwynedd and Anglesey.

The post holder will be a member of the admin team, which provides both a clerical and telephone operator service, for the Dietitian Department and administration support to Therapy Services.

Therapy Services comprises of Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Podiatry & Orthotics, Speech and Language Therapy and Administration. Each area has it's own Head of Service who is accountable to the Area Director of Therapy Services.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate must be an effective communicator, have good interpersonal skills and work in a flexible and organised manner. He/she must have a good standard of education. The ability to multi-task is important.

An appointable candidate not successful for this full-time role may be held in reserve for a part-time role subject to approval.

Qualifications

Essential criteria


* Good general education
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent knowledge/experience
* IT Qualifications or proven experience using Microsoft Office packages

Desirable criteria

* Knowledge of Therapy Manager, WPAS, Hospital administration systems
* European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL or equivalent skills)
* Understanding of basic medical terminology

Skills

Essential criteria

* Excellent Communication skills (written, verbal and telephone) in Welsh (minimum level 4) and English
* Excellent organisational skills
* Able to concentrate on administrative duties in an unpredictable environment

Desirable criteria

* Evidence of ongoing/continuous personal development

General

Essential Criteria

* No spelling errors
* Relevant experience and a good fit for the role
* Welsh Language Level 4 or 5

Experience

Essential criteria

* Experience within a busy office dealing with members of the public
* Knowledge of Data Protection Act and relevant legislation
* Awareness of Patient Confidentiality

Desirable criteria

* Previous medical records or hospital based clerical experience
* Experience of working directly with clinical/consultant staff
* Previous waiting list management experience
