Job Title: Youth Hub Worker

Job Location: Dudley

Salary: £13.24 per hour

Contract type: Permanent

Working hours: 37 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Mon-Fri 9am-5pm

Closing date - 10th October 2025

About the role

Working as part of the Hub at Dudley Council Plus you will deliver a critical front facing service that supports the effective delivery of the homeless service to young people. Providing support to young people aged 16 to 25 which includes young offenders, care leavers, and other vulnerable young people.

Working closely with Dudley Council Plus Homelessness Team, Case Managers and Housing Providers to source adequate housing accommodation for service users and refer them to the Floating Service if required.

There will be a split of working from home and working in the Dudley Council office as part of a rota with the other youth hub worker.

Please note that if you are successful in this role, we will require a DBS check to be completed. Further details will be sent following offer.

About you

We are looking for someone who is approachable and is sympathetic to the needs of young people. You will need to be able to work well as part of the homelessness team in Dudley as well as on your own when working from home. You need to be able to create positive relationships with young people and provide support and expert guidance to those who approach the Council for housing. You will need to build a knowledge of housing available in and around the Dudley area and make the necessary referrals as well as ensuring that they are affordable. You may need to support them in accessing the correct benefits.

You would need to have at least 1 years` experience supporting vulnerable people within a housing or community setting.

Knowledge of housing benefits and applications, and experience working with young people.
