Role Purpose
The Site Environment Officer role provides a site lead on Operational Environmental compliance and improvements The Environment Officer is responsible for compliance with environmental regulatory obligations, monitor and improve the environmental performance and achieve internal environmental objectives. The Environment Officer will develop, maintain and improve the environmental management system in accordance with ISO 14001: 2015. Identify the environmental aspects / impacts of technologies, products, services and activities with a life cycle perspective, will manage the risks and opportunities examining environmental and social trends, and improve environmental performance through environmental technologies and eco-design. The Environment Officer will own the definition and deployment of the environmental policy and will lead internal/external audit programmes. The Environment Officer will ensure accurate and timely communication and interaction with internal/external stakeholders as required.

Responsibilities
14. Implement, monitor and continually improve the Environmental Management system and take accountability for compliance with the ISO 14001 standard.
15. Ensure that environmental actions are performed in accordance with agreed procedures and tools.
16. Define and drive environmental objectives in agreement with all involved sectors of the site and follow up on their implementation to improve the environmental performance of the site, in line with relevant local objectives.
17. Support Environmental Local Roadmap contributing knowledge and expertise.
18. Risk and opportunities identification and management including identification of the contextual relevant environmental information and communicating it to the corresponding stakeholders at site.
19. Identify internal and external stakeholders and ensure that relevant needs & expectations from interested parties are considered, in particular local authorities.
20. Ensure permanent tracking and management of any hazardous substances used in the site related to environmental risks.
21. Ensure the availability of accurate consolidated environmental data and information to contribute to environmental communication and reporting obligations.
22. Represent Environment at Management Sites reviews.
23. Ensure robust management of environmental Incidents.
24. Ensure appropriate actions are in place to continuously ensure environmental compliance on regulatory requirements and to evaluate this compliance.
25. Identify, evaluate and compliance assessment (environmental regulations, European, national and local).
26. Environmental licences and authorisations management, to secure licences to operate by compliance with existing limits and the anticipation and application for future deviations or new permits.
27. Ensure that appropriate environmental support is available for the various business areas operating within the Site, in clarifying the applicable requirements and rules to be respected on the Site.
28. Providing technical expertise on environment topics.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
29. Professionally qualification – Graduate / HND level or equivalent experience / application in Environmental management
30. Understanding and ability to interpret appropriate forms of Environmental Legislation
31. Strong, current working knowledge of applicable legislation guidance and best practice
32. Proven record of achievement and delivery within an operational environment
33. Good Negotiating Skills
34. Ability to deal with the complexity of multiple and often conflicting issues
35. Management and Leadership understanding and experiences
36. Intermediate IT skills including Project, Excel and application of data bases
37. Understanding of problem-solving tools and technique
38. Effective communication skills
39. Effective relationship management skills
40. Ability to work in a team and on own initiative
41. Minimum of five years working in an operational environmental role
42. Minimum of three years supporting the operational environment within a manufacturing environment
43. Minimum three years’ experience working within the framework of formal Environment Management systems including ISO14001
44. Ability to deliver consistently to internal and external deadlines.
