Our client, a precision engineering firm based in Rochester, are growing and are looking to add a proactive, analytical, detail-oriented Quality Engineer to their Quality team.
As a Quality Engineer you will work closely with the Quality Manager, and existing Quality Engineer, to ensure their products, processes, and systems consistently meet or exceed established quality, safety, and reliability standards. Your expertise will play a vital role in determining the standards the products are tested against, and collaborating with production teams, to establish root causes and ensure Corrective/Preventive actions are generated and documented when issues arise.
Main responsibilities include:
* Conducting internal product and process audits to drive improvements which comply with business processes and ISO9001/ AS9100 certification requirements.
* Undertaking corrective actions; identifying, documenting, and analysing nonconformities and mitigating their impacts by implementing appropriate actions.
* Recording and documenting inspection results, reporting findings to the Quality Manager.
Wider responsibilities will be shared, and you will have the opportunity to be involved in new product introduction, system development, customer/supplier visits and contract reviews.
The ideal Quality Engineer will have experience in a similar role within a manufacturing/production environment, engineering is desirable but not essential. You will also have:
* Excellent IT skills. Required for product data management, analysis, and reporting. Microsoft Office versed, Word/PowerPoint/Excel proficient
* A working knowledge of Quality Improvement Tools and Problem-Solving Tools/Techniques
* A practical knowledge of ISO9001 standards – Product, Process and System auditing.
* Excellent communications skills and the ability to connect with stakeholders at all levels
* Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
Hours of work
This is a site-based role, Monday-Friday 8.15-17.00 and Friday 8.30-13.15. (37.75 Hours a week)
A driving licence/vehicle are desirable as supplier/customer visits fall within the scope of the role.
