Role: Senior Civil Engineer

I’m looking to speak with experienced Civil Engineers in London, interested in joining a small, incredibly successful civil and structural engineering consultancy on a permanent basis.
This is a key role within the business, where you will be overseeing the Civil Engineering output for a wide range of interesting building and infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities of this Senior Civil Engineer role:
1. Undertake and oversee the production of technically sound engineering solutions, including calculations, drawings, specifications and reports
2. Design of sustainable drainage solutions
3. Design and specification of highways/external works elements
4. Preparation and submission of sectional agreements
5. Check output from technicians and junior colleagues
6. Coordinate designs with colleagues and wider project team
7. Attend meetings and undertake surveys
8. Collaborate with clients, designers and building contractors throughout the design and construction process
9. Play an integral role in the management and delivery of projects
Requirements of this Senior Civil Engineer role:
10. Masters’ or Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering (or other appropriate subject)
11. Chartered or nearly Chartered status
12. Comprehensive knowledge of below ground drainage design, including drainage strategies, SuDS features and external works
13. Good working knowledge and experience of using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, TEDDS and Causeway Flow/Microdrainage
14. Ensure compliance with all relevant technical standards
15. Ability to prepare technical reports
16. Demonstration of innovation and problem-solving skills
17. Experience of managing multidisciplinary projects
18. Minimum 5 years' post graduate experience
19. Willingness to help mentor early career colleagues
20. Commercial ability, including the production of tenders, fee proposals and wider business development
21. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
22. Help promote a culture of best practice (including technical, H&S and sustainable design)
23. In depth knowledge of the role of the designer in relation to the CDM Regulations 2015
