We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused General Catering Assistant to join our team in Wrexham, United Kingdom. As a vital member of our catering staff, you will contribute to creating a welcoming atmosphere and delivering exceptional service to our clients.
* Assist in the preparation and presentation of food and beverages for various events and daily operations
* Maintain a clean and hygienic working environment, adhering to food safety standards
* Serve customers in a friendly and professional manner, addressing their needs and enquiries
* Operate catering equipment, including coffee machines and food warmers
* Support the kitchen team with basic food preparation tasks
* Restock and organise supplies in the catering area
* Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth service delivery
* Assist in setting up and breaking down event spaces
* Handle cash and card transactions accurately
* Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge
Qualifications
* Proven customer service experience in a food service or hospitality setting
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
* Basic culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques
* Understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations
* Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
* Reliable and punctual with a positive, can-do attitude
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team
* Basic maths skills for handling transactions and inventory
* Barista experience is advantageous but not essential
* Food handling certificate or willingness to obtain one
