A caring, reliable, and supportive Personal Assistant is required to provide 1:1 support for a 6‑year‑old boy with Global Developmental Delay. He is non‑verbal and requires assistance with communication. He enjoys a variety of activities, including visiting parks, swimming, outdoor walks, messy play, and arts and crafts. Support will take place within the family home and in the local community, helping him to access activities safely and to build independence away from his family. The role is part‑time, offering 5 hours per week, with flexibility around when these hours are worked. Availability at weekends and during school holidays is essential. The hourly rate is £13.45, with a mileage allowance paid when the young person is transported in the PA’s vehicle. A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle, with business‑use insurance, is essential. Applicants must have experience or a good understanding of working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family, and not be employed or carry out work for Cornwall Council.
