About the opportunity

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a key role in leading the pharmacy team to provide a service that our patients can trust. With checking capability, you will have opportunities to develop your skills and progress your career or continue to offer excellent service to your local community with ongoing CPD.
Your main responsibilities will include:
1. Providing expert, tailored advice to patients about medicines, products, or Macmillan Cancer Support.
2. Delivering various services depending on store needs.
3. Building great relationships with your pharmacy team; coaching and inspiring them to deliver the highest standards of care.
4. Assisting with patient triage and distributing prescription handouts.
5. Making legal, safe, and ethical decisions within the pharmacy.
6. Managing operational tasks such as stock replenishment, workload management, order fulfilment, and handling controlled drugs safely.
7. Completing a recognized training program, such as Buttercups, or the Boots 6-week Accuracy Checking Programme if you do not already hold a formal qualification in accuracy checking.
8. Being registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC and willing to complete our training to become qualified to check prescriptions.
9. Having a passion for coaching and leading a dispensary team.
10. Exhibiting excellent communication and organizational skills.
11. Motivated to improve services for teams, customers, and patients.
12. Having the ability to use pharmacy systems and technology.
It would be advantageous if you also have:
1. Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician with checking capability (training provided if not).
