About Us
We are a team of six based at Fire Service HQ in Kidlington, we work from this office at least two days per week and additionally travel to meetings and training in other locations around the Thames Valley. The team handle a complex workload, managing a wide variety of workstreams and responses to incidents across several organisations both in and out of normal working hours. We work to ensure compliance against several statutory legislations with the whole team supporting planning, training and exercising across all areas. Our purpose is to protect our community, reduce harm and save lives.
Our key team priorities are:
* Empowering communities with the knowledge and tools to prepare for and recover from incidents and emergencies.
* Improve our data-driven insights for decision-making and emergency response.
* Continuously improving through innovation, learning, and best practice.
* Provide trusted resilience services to Oxfordshire County Council and further develop the paid service to local authority partners.
* Support & coordinate OCCs response 24/7 to incidents and emergencies with other Cat 1, Cat 2 partners and other stakeholders.
About the Role
To be successful in the role, you will ideally have previous experience of working in a Local Authority, Category 1 organisation, Emergency Planning or Business Continuity environment or the enthusiasm to learn a variety of skills quickly. This role will include several identified planning workstreams which you will take the lead for writing plans and producing training
