Monday to Thursday 08:30-17:00
Friday08:30-16:30
with cover for evening meetings on an agreed schedule
Do you thrive on organisation and love making a positive impact? Calne Town Council is seeking ahighly organised and detail-oriented Information Officerto be a pivotal part of our team! This diverse role offers you the chance to support local governance, streamline information, and contribute to important community initiatives. You’ll be right at the heart of our operations, working closely with councillors and staff.
Your Impact:
* Keep Things Running:You’ll provide comprehensive admin support to various Town Council committees and working groups – preparing agendas, taking minutes, and tracking key actions.
* Project Contributor:Help deliver crucial Town Council projects, from research to data management and stakeholder coordination.
* System Guardian:Maintain and update our information management systems, ensuring data is always accurate and accessible and following data protection guidance.
* First Point of Contact:Assist with public inquiries, directing them to the right people.
* Office Essential:Handle a range of administrative duties to keep our office efficient.
What We’re Looking For:
* Proven Experience:You’ve got experience in an administrative or support role, ideally in local government or the public sector.
* Master Organiser:Exceptional organizational skills and a meticulous eye for detail are a must.
* Tech-Savvy:Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ideally, database management.
* Excellent Communicator:You can produce clear, concise, and accurate documents and communicate effectively.
* Discreet:You handle confidential information with care.
* Self-Starter & Team Player:You’re proactive, self-motivated, and equally comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
* Community Driven:A strong commitment to public service and an understanding of local government functions.
