About Hinkley Point C
The first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; Hinkley Point C in Somerset will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, create thousands of jobs and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy.
Marking a significant milestone in the revitalisation of our nuclear power industry, Hinkley Point C will make a major contribution to the UKs move to reduce carbon emissions. The electricity generated by its two EPR reactors will offset 9 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions a year, or 600 million tonnes over its 60-year lifespan.
What you'll be doing
As a CAD Engineer, you will have the following responsibilities,
1. Prepare drawings, schedules, and other fire alarm & detector CAD Design programmes to support MEH Alliance, Hinkley Point installation team.
2. Professional and technical competence in CAD and information management.
3. Ensure CDM and H&S is applied to the project
4. Ensure drawings are appropriate, are checked and meet the expected levels of technical quality
5. To seek innovation in the delivery of CAD and BIM.
6. Ensure the IMS and CAD manual is actively applied
Who we're looking for
7. Ability to achieve a high-level security clearance.
8. Nuclear and Major Project experience would be a benefit.
9. Knowledge of the use of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D and BIM modelling
10. Relevant vocational qualifications (at least City and Guilds / HNC / HND)
11. Broad knowledge of CDM, IMS and H&S legislation
12. Recent experience working with multi-disciplinary teams.
13. Experience in alarm & detectors design, installation, and commissioning (both Temporary and permanent)
14. Certification in BAFE and Fire Alarm and Detection (including design, maintenance, installation, and commissioning to meet BS 5839)
