Description Salary £46,142 - £51,356 per annum I Fixed Term Contract until 31/03/2028 I Full Time, 37 hours per week I School & Residential Care Catering We’re looking for a dynamic and commercially minded Business Development Manager to help grow Lancashire County Council’s School & Residential Care Catering service. You’ll play a key role in expanding our market presence, winning new business and shaping commercial strategy—ensuring our catering offer remains competitive, sustainable and widely recognised. What You Will Be Doing; Identifying and developing new commercial catering opportunities across the public and private sectors, with a strong focus on expanding school catering business in northern England. Leading tender activity—from bid preparation to contract negotiation—ensuring competitive, compliant and compelling submissions. Designing and delivering marketing strategies, including brand development and campaigns across digital, print and social media channels. Managing and growing key client relationships, acting as the main point of contact for new and existing commercial customers. Monitoring financial performance, analysing revenue, costs and profitability to support commercial decision ‑ making and long ‑ term service planning. What We’re Looking For; Proven experience in business development, sales or marketing with clear, demonstrable success in driving growth. Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills, with confidence in presenting to stakeholders and managing complex client relationships. Commercial acumen including financial management, reporting, procurement and tendering experience.
