Our prestigious and market-leading client, based in Shipdham, is currently seeking a Head of Nutrition to join their well-established and successful team.
As the Head of Equine & Smallholder Nutrition, you will play a major part in overseeing product development, feed trials, sampling, and the nutritional analysis of feeds in line with current legislation.
The role involves providing equine nutritional advice via phone, email, and at shows and events. The successful candidate should be approachable and able to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers of all ages and backgrounds. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to write articles for internal and external publications and to deliver nutritional lectures.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing an award-winning team of nutritionists.
* Contributing to new product development and researching the feasibility of potential products.
* Overseeing feed trials in compliance with legislation.
* Collaborating with a Company Director on sampling, nutritional analysis, interpretation, and administration.
* Liaising with the Marketing Department to produce technical documents for marketing and legislative purposes.
* Providing nutritional support and product training to Area Sales Managers.
* Attending conferences to stay updated on industry developments and reporting findings.
* Writing nutritional articles for publications and marketing materials.
* Coordinating the Product Customer Service before, during, and after purchases.
* Preparing and delivering nutritional talks at events and educational institutions.
* Performing other duties as required by the nutrition department.
This role covers both equine and smallholder ranges. Besides equine expertise, the candidate should be able to provide nutritional advice for animals such as poultry, pigs, sheep, goats, and cattle.
Successful candidates will have experience managing a team, leisure horse experience, and ideally hold a relevant Masters Degree.

* Master’s degree in Equine Science, Equine Studies, Animal Science, or Animal Management.
* Exceptional communication skills.
* Excellent organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
* Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
* Creativity, enthusiasm, proactive approach.
* Computer literacy.
* Full UK driving license required.
* Reside within 45 minutes of the Norfolk Head Office.
