The Position
The Corporate Tax Accountant role within the Asset Management (AM) Finance Team offers growth and learning opportunities. The team manages a portfolio of over 150 companies across the UK and Ireland, serving leading renewable energy investors.
This role supports the corporation tax compliance process, including preparing tax computations and schedules, requiring a strong grounding in corporation tax. The successful candidate reports to the Tax Manager and collaborates with management accountants, internal stakeholders, and clients.
The position is for 3 days per week, with flexible hours.
Organisational Context
The Asset Management department oversees wind farms, solar, and storage plants, managing compliance and supporting asset management.
Key Accountabilities
1. Prepare and file corporation tax computations for UK companies.
2. Prepare tax accounting schedules under FRS102 and IFRS.
3. Calculate group relief, quarterly payments, and other tax obligations.
4. File other tax returns and liaise with HMRC.
5. Review tax returns prepared by third parties.
6. Support due diligence projects and coordinate capital allowance projects.
7. Collaborate with other teams to resolve tax queries.
8. Assist in preparing statutory accounts.
Knowledge
* Strong UK corporation tax knowledge
* Tax qualification or part of an accountancy qualification
* Knowledge of audits and statutory accounts
Skills
* Technical compliance skills
* Experience with ONESOURCE Tax or similar software
* Multitasking, deadline management, and prioritization
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
* Logical, practical approach with attention to detail
* Team player with autonomy and proactivity
Experience
* Significant corporate tax compliance experience
* Experience with capital allowances, group tax issues, transfer pricing
* Experience in fast-paced, multi-client environments
Qualifications
* Qualified tax professional or accountant (ACA/ACCA/CTA or similar)
