Main duties of the job
We have an amazing opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive Female* Support Worker ideally with a full clean driving licence in the South Shields, Tyne and Wear area. The role will be supporting a woman with a Brain Injury whose interests include walking, dogs (there sometimes be a dog at the clients home), shopping and spending time with children within the family. You will support with our client with her rehabilitation programme, to increase her independence, both at home and in the community. This role will include personal and domestic care, therapy exercises as advised by a therapy team, social and leisure outings.

Job responsibilities
You will be working hours per week, covering a day shift, a sleep in and a short shift the following morning. Additional hours maybe available to cover holidays and sickness including evening, weekend shifts and sleep in duties on a rota basis.
Training can be provided for the right candidate and regular supervisions will take place to support you.
* We require Female Support Workers due to the occupational requirements of the client making this role compliant with Paragraph 1, Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010

2. Assist the client to exercise choice and control over their own lives as far as they are able in everyday matters but taking into consideration cognitive problems
3. Liaise with and support the family as required
4. Assist the client with personal care as needed
5. Supporting the client to use local amenities such as shops and leisure facilities and attend community events
6. Follow the service user plan as documented for the client
7. Maintain accurate and confidential records
8. Participate in manual handling procedures as specified for the client
9. Maintain professional boundaries with the client and their family members, adhering to direction from the case manager as appropriate

About us:
JSP Ltd provides an essential service to both adults and children who have suffered brain and spinal injury. Qualified staff assess clients needs and offer individually designed case management and rehabilitation programmes. The company was established in 1994 and is now a successful rehabilitation and case management consultancy, working in close co-operation with the legal profession. We now have five offices employing around 80 staff. We manage over 400 support workers and provide services to just under 400 clients nationally.
JSP are not an employment agency, we help our clients to recruit their own support workers as part of our case management service, You will be employed directly by the client,however, JSP oversee all aspects of the clients care package on her behalf.

14. Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS and enrolin the DBS update service
