Responsibilities
* Design bespoke lifting equipment, taking projects from concept to detailed manufacturing drawings.
* Collaborate with sales and manufacturing teams to ensure technical requirements are met.
* Perform calculations by hand, Excel, and FEA to verify designs and ensure compliance with standards.
* Provide technical support during production, testing, installation, and commissioning stages.
* Produce statutory documents, quality records, and operation and maintenance instructions.
* Manage multiple projects at various stages of development while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Qualifications
* A minimum of an HND in Mechanical Engineering, with a BSc preferred.
* Proven experience in designing special-purpose machinery, ideally lifting equipment but good mechanical and hydraulic equipment would be considered.
* Proficiency in CAD, being able to use AutoCAD, Inventor, Vault, and Microsoft Office applications for design activities; other systems will also be considered.
* Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and British/International engineering standards.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and within a team.
