Overview
HS2 Ltd seeks a Senior Application Lifecycle Manager to lead establishment and deployment of an environment for developing, continually improving, and securely operating applications across HS2. The role has responsibility for the operational efficiency of HS2’s application portfolio. Base salary: £46,406 pa to £54,595 pa depending on skills and experience. In addition, a flexible benefits fund of 20% is paid on top of base salary and is fully pensionable, as well as a range of competitive benefits.
Responsibilities
* Lead establishment and deployment of an environment for developing, continually improving, and securely operating applications across HS2.
* Lead planning, prioritisation, forward schedule of change, maintenance, and lifecycle of the wide variety of applications across HS2.
* Lead rationalisation, optimisation and licensing reclamation of the IT application portfolio across HS2 to drive operational and financial efficiency.
* Lead coordination of application versioning and deploy, maintain & change, and retire lifecycle for all applications across HS2.
* Own, manage and maintain the Application Service Catalogue.
* Liaise with architects to identify and agree upgrades and rationalisation opportunities for applications across HS2.
* Liaise with the testing team to ensure that applications are appropriately tested before being brought into service.
* Own the relationship with, and manage, third-party suppliers responsible for conducting activities across the application lifecycle.
* Actively promote and embed Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all work, and support and comply with organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.

* Systems and software lifecycle: Establishing and deploying an environment for developing, continually improving, and securely operating HS2’s portfolio of applications
* Application rationalisation: Drive operational and financial efficiency of the application portfolio, ensuring alignment of applications with business capabilities
* Risk management: Plan and implement organisation-wide processes and procedures for the management of risk to the success or integrity of the enterprise
* Technology Service Management: Plan for, develop, deliver and support IT services and products to meet the needs of a business through HS2’s application portfolio
* Stakeholder relationship management: Influence stakeholder attitudes, decisions, and actions for mutual benefit
Knowledge
* Knowledge of application lifecycle management methodologies, tools and processes
* Knowledge of application rationalisation methodologies and processes to drive efficiency
* Knowledge of a range of delivery methodologies (e.g., waterfall, agile, lean) and how they can be integrated into IT initiative delivery
* Knowledge of the technology service provider landscape and opportunities for collaboration and continuous improvement
* Knowledge of digital information technology trends and opportunities
Type Of Experience
* Extensive experience overseeing application lifecycle management in a complex environment
* Experience developing and delivering an application lifecycle management strategy
* Experience understanding users and delivering applications/services that meet their needs
* Experience advising senior stakeholders on priorities, risks, issues, and resolutions
* Experience collaborating with or managing suppliers and vendors
