We are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible individual to undertake the role of APA (Assistant Personal Assistant) to our Medical Support Teams. These teams support the Consultants, Nurse specialists, and other clinical team members. We are keen to hear from applicants who can demonstrate their organisational skills and ability to work on their own initiative.
The main duties of the post (not exhaustive) include:
1. Providing a comprehensive secretarial/administrative service, including organising, making arrangements, typing, distributing documents and reports, recording information, and filing, ensuring standards and timescales are met.
2. Assisting with managing diary commitments by liaising internally and externally, ensuring accurate preparation and briefing of all involved parties.
3. Maintaining constructive relationships within and across divisions and externally to improve service effectiveness and efficiency.
4. Learning electronic systems for correspondence and health information management, including internet research.
5. Providing information to patients, relatives, and carers as appropriate, including details on waiting lists, tests, and referrals, following guidelines and in the absence of the PA.
6. Monitoring investigations database to ensure timely return of investigations requested by clinicians.
7. Updating pathways, closing referrals, and administering clinic cancellations.

Applicants should be highly motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team, flexible, eager to learn, and excellent communicators. Some administrative or clerical experience, good IT skills, and the ability to type accurately are desirable.
As an Assistant PA (APA), you will organize your workload according to tasks set by the PA to ensure efficient service delivery and support colleagues in the administration team.
