A leading Tier 1 civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Planner to join its expanding team on a major highways‑related programme in the Midlands. Your new role
As a Planner, you will help shape, manage, and maintain programmes across a significant highways' workstream. You’ll work closely with engineering,mercial, and operational teams to provide accurate programme analysis, support delivery, and ensure alignment with contractual obligations and strategic objectives.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Planner who enjoysplex sequencing, live‑environment delivery, and contributing to the wider project strategy.
Key responsibilities:
1. Develop, update, and manage detailed project programmes (P6 / MS Project)
2. Provide regular progress updates, dashboards, and critical path reporting
3. Support pre‑construction planning, methodology development, and sequencing
4. Identify delays, risks, and opportunities and support mitigation planning
5. Produce NECpliant programme information to support EWNs and change
6. Work collaboratively with engineering,mercial, and delivery teams
7. Ensure accurate programme data and report to senior stakeholders
What you'll need to succeed
8. Proven experience working on National Highways projects (essential)
9. Background in highways, civil engineering, or large‑scale infrastructure
10. Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 or MS Project
11. Understanding of NEC contract planning and reporting requirements
12. Excellentmunication, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills
13. Ability to work within a fast‑paced, high‑profile delivery environment
