ROLE SUMMARY The laser mark operative is responsible to the Finishing Team Leader for the efficient and effective operations of their designated area. The department is responsible for laser marking, dressing, polishing, blasting, and fitting and assembling Orthopaedic Instrumentation. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES These will include the following listed below and other duties may be assigned depending on the needs of the business. Laser-mark machine operation; Using Pryor and Laser Partners PC Software to program and control the machine to obtain accurate and presentable marking. Set-up laser-marking machines and programs to mark various features such as Identification-numbers / Customer-logos / Rule-scales etc Load and unloading of multiple components to maintain consistent position / clarity / accuracy Reading & Interpretation of Technical drawings so as to fulfil laser-marking details specified by our customer Continuously build and hold appreciation for visual-quality and clarity of laser-marking (cosmetic & dimensional) Daily machine start up and shutdown procedures Responsible for general minor maintenance and cleaning of work area in accordance with company standards and manufactures machine recommendations. Carry out quality checks and record the necessary data to enable clear traceability, reporting any issues that may jeopardize quality standards. Perform machine alignments procedures and optic cleaning to keep equipment at peak operating performance as necessary. Ensure work areas are kept clean and tidy, adhering to Health and Safety procedures and policies. Assist with any other task as required in line with business needs and as required within your skill set and experience. (Generally assisting with Final Cleaning & Final Visual Inspection on a ad-hoc basis) Achieving the production schedule Minimising machine downtime Effective flow of work in and out of section Adhere to requirements of the Companys QA policies Ad hoc GENERAL GUIDELINES Have a helpful attitude towards all personnel, fostering good working relationships Give specific attention to those on his/her section and other sections as required by Management Good time keeping Maintain good working practices Uphold Company policies including but not exhaustive of, eating and drinking policy, mobile phones & IT equipment policies Implement Health & Safety policy which is relevant to his/her section Monitoring of equipment within section and identifying maintenance requirements and notifying management
