If you answered yes, we have an incredible opportunity for a SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant to join our partner SEN School in the Thetford area. We're seeking a compassionate and proactive individual who is committed to making a tangible, positive impact on students' lives.
Your Responsibilities
This role is a chance to be a pillar of support for students on their educational journey. Your day will involve:
* In-Class Support: Working closely with the class teacher to support students with SEMH needs, helping to manage their behaviour and emotional responses in a constructive way.
* One-to-One and Small Group Work: Providing tailored support to students, helping them to stay on task, build their confidence, and develop crucial social and emotional skills.
* Creating a Calm Environment: Contributing to a classroom where every student feels safe, understood, and ready to learn, especially during challenging moments.
* Encouraging Development: Acting as a mentor, guiding students to develop resilience, self-regulation, and a positive mindset.
* Team Collaboration: Working as a key part of the support team, providing valuable feedback on student progress, challenges, and successes.
Who We're Looking For
We need an empathetic and professional individual with a genuine passion for supporting children with SEMH needs. The ideal candidate will have:
* Eligibility to work in the UK and a valid Child DBS on the update service (or the willingness to apply for one).
* Empathy: The ability to connect with students on their level and remain calm and understanding during difficult situations.
* Resilience: A proactive and composed mindset, with a knack for finding creative solutions and celebrating every milestone, big or small.
* Strong Communication Skills: The ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with students, teachers, and parents.
* Relevant Experience: Previous experience working with children, particularly those with SEMH needs, is highly desirable.
