We are currently recruiting Teaching Assistants on behalf of a brand-new SEND secondary provision which opened in September 2025 in Chaldon, Surrey. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a school at the very start of its journey and play a key role in shaping a positive, inclusive learning environment.
The school will support students aged 11–16 with needs related to autism, social communication, emotional regulation and sensory processing. Learners benefit from small class sizes, high levels of classroom support and access to a multi-disciplinary team, enabling every student to reach their full potential through a personalised curriculum aligned with the national curriculum.
This is a permanent role, primarily based at the Chaldon site, with some flexibility required to work from a nearby satellite provision in Caterham when needed.

The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils’ learning, development and wellbeing, helping to create a safe, nurturing and structured environment. The role may include supporting personal care needs where required, as well as implementing positive behaviour strategies tailored to individual pupils.

Key Responsibilities
* Safeguard and promote the welfare and wellbeing of all pupils in line with school policies, including safeguarding and PREVENT
* Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to help them feel safe, supported and ready to learn
* Support positive behaviour, emotional regulation and concentration, responding calmly and appropriately to changes or escalations in behaviour
* Promote independence, personal development and consistently high expectations of behaviour
* Provide meaningful feedback to teachers on pupil progress, behaviour and engagement
* Support the delivery of learning activities as directed by the teacher, reinforcing key concepts
* Prepare and organise resources to support lessons and activities
* Assist in delivering a broad and balanced curriculum, adapted to meet the needs of the class group

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
