Overview
Senior Software Technology Manager at Arm. You will work with Arm's key customers to define and prioritise requirements for software enablement and optimization and develop strategies to deliver them within Arm and our software ecosystem.
Our Central Engineering Software group supports Arm's technologies with a bridging role. You will be part of a team of technology managers addressing the growing demand for software on Arm technology.
Responsibilities
* Evaluate the complete value chain of end customers, manufacturers, and designers of hardware, software, and systems, including productization, support and quality assurance related to what we deliver to customers.
* Gather specific market segment needs and translate these into product plans.
* Collaborate with internal engineering teams and software vendors to prioritize features and enhancements that meet customer needs.
* Perform competitive analysis to identify strengths and weaknesses of Arm-based solutions versus the competition.
* Engage in open-source communities and communicate the software offering to customers and sales forces through participation in customer meetings, sales meetings, and training.
Required Skills & Experience
* Demonstrable experience with creation and management of software requirements (preferably in a software product delivery context), and an understanding of how they are validated and delivered to required levels of quality.
* Ability to express ideas and communicate effectively with team members, customers, and suppliers to formulate, agree, and implement strategic plans.
* Software development experience, e.g., firmware, operating systems or application development.
* Motivation to work unsupervised, but as an integral member of a local developer team and a globally distributed technology management team.
* Comfortable with travel; up to 25% international travel may be required.
Nice to Have
* Good university degree (or equivalent), ideally in a numerate subject; other graduates may be considered with relevant experience.
* Visibility or experience of a full open-source software development lifecycle and components of a typical software stack, including non-functional aspects of software and targets for integration maturity.
* Visibility or experience of a software product development and delivery lifecycle.
* Technical Product Management, Technology Sales or Technology Marketing experience.
* Experience in an environment where hardware was designed and proof-of-concept software was built to verify it.
* Experience with defining requirements to achieve quality and optimization goals.
* Experience in non-functional areas such as performance and functional safety.
