Our client is a leading provider of HGV maintenance and repair services, trusted by the UK’s largest commercial fleet operators for over 30 years. They offer a comprehensive range of fleet solutions, including servicing, repairs, compliance management, and emergency support, ensuring vehicles stay on the road and businesses keep moving.
Role: HGV Technician, GET STAFFED ONLINE RECRUITMENT LIMITED
Location: Livingston. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of heavy goods vehicles and trailers for Tesco. All shift patterns considered as they are flexible – minimum 40.25 hours (no Monday – Friday days available).
Salary
* Days: £20.13 per hour
* Nights: £22.37 per hour
* Overtime available – paid 1.5
Responsibilities
* Service, inspection, maintenance and repair of trucks and trailers.
* Electrical, electronic, mechanical and hydraulic fault diagnosis, repair and installation.
* Overhaul electrical equipment and components.
* Setting and operating of machine tools and equipment.
* Welding and metal working.
* Department of Transport (MOT) testing preparation.
* Parts ordering and stores management.
* Support team members including Apprentice Technicians as required.
* Accurately record time and detail of completed jobs.
* Carry out inspection and repair of workshop equipment as directed.
Qualifications
* Qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Goods Maintenance or equivalent or proven experience as an HGV Technician or similar role in vehicle maintenance.
* Diagnostics skills/qualifications – desirable.
* A valid Class 1 licence – desirable.
* Proficient in using hand tools and power tools.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
