Kitchen Assistant Role at Goodwill Healthcare Services Limited
Location: Middlesbrough, Redcar, Stockton-on-Tees
Position Type: Zero Hours Contract (Temporary)
Hourly Rate: £12.45 - £18.68
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation and serving of nutritious meals for residents.
* Support chefs with food preparation, chopping ingredients, and cooking.
* Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene, adhering to food safety standards.
* Wash dishes, utensils, and equipment, keeping the kitchen organized.
* Manage stock rotation and monitor food supplies to minimize waste.
* Follow health and safety procedures, including food hygiene regulations.
* Collaborate with care home staff to accommodate dietary needs.
Candidate Requirements
* Previous kitchen experience preferred but not essential (care home, healthcare, hospitality).
* Legal right to work in the UK; no sponsorship provided.
* Basic understanding of food hygiene, safety, and dietary requirements.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions.
* Flexible, reliable, and able to cover shifts at short notice.
* Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills.
* Good communication skills.
Certifications
* Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2) - Essential
* Food Allergens Training - Essential
* Health & Safety Awareness - Preferred
* Driving License - Preferred
* NVQ Level 2 Catering or Food Preparation - Essential
* HACCP - Essential
Working Conditions
