Job Title: Sports Course Lead

Start Date: 1st September 2026
Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum D.O.E
Overview
We are partnering with a specialist provision in Hull that supports students aged 11-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The School is looking to appoint a Sports Course Lead on a permanent, full‑time basis from September 2026. The successful candidate will lead both classroom and practical sports delivery, implement the Pearson Level 1/2 First Certificate in Sport and support students with SEMH needs through engaging, hands‑on learning and external partnerships.
Responsibilities
* Lead classroom and practical sports sessions for students.
* Implement and assess the Pearson Level 1/2 First Certificate in Sport.
* Support students with SEMH needs in a therapeutic, inclusive environment.
* Collaborate with external partners to enhance students’ learning experience.
* Use a calm, flexible and adaptable approach to learning delivery.
* Communicate effectively with staff, students and external partners to build positive relationships.
Qualifications
* Relevant sports‑based qualification(s).
* Experience in sports coaching, teaching or playing.
* Strong understanding of health, nutrition and wellbeing.
* Experience working with young people with SEMH or additional needs.
* Strong communication skills.
