Summary
At FAFS Fire & Security, we are experts in designing, installing, commissioning, and servicing state‑of‑the‑art automatic Fire Detection, Protection and Alarm Systems across Greater London. This role will require nationwide travel and involves inspecting fire doors in line with the UKAS BlueSky Certification scheme, Government guidance and manufacturer technical installation or O&M guidance.
Qualifications
* Minimum of 3 years experience in a like‑for‑like or similar role.
* Good understanding of third‑party accreditation requirements in this field.
* Comprehensive knowledge of passive fire door systems and products such as Flamebreak, Premdor and Vicaima.
* Knowledge of the 2021 Fire Safety Act.
* Familiarity with Approved documents B, BS 476‑22 and BS 8214.
* Positive attitude, excellent communication skills, professional appearance, able to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
* Attend client sites and inspect fire doors in line with the UKAS BlueSky Certification scheme, government guidance and manufacturer technical installation or O&M guidance.
* Survey sites prior to the carpentry team to assess access, health & safety, material storage and accuracy against third‑party information.
* Quantify survey for materials required to complete the works.
* Meet with clients on site to discuss site requirements and individual client needs.
* Hand over accepted inspection reports to the passive fire projects manager.
