About the role
The CWD Practice Supervisor role is a specialist, diverse, rewarding and creative role where you will lead, guide and supervise a small team of social workers, providing reflective supervision, support and professional challenge. You will play a key part in supporting staff development, maintaining high standards of practice and helping your team deliver meaningful, child‑centred work.
Responsibilities
* Lead and supervise a small team of social workers, providing reflective supervision and professional challenge.
* Support staff development and maintain high standards of practice.
* Help the team deliver meaningful, child‑centred work for children and families with severe and profound disabilities.
* Apply a restorative and relationship‑based approach to practice, supported by strong communication skills and emotional intelligence.
* Manage challenge and lead change in a positive and constructive way.
* Ensure compliance with relevant legal frameworks, including the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty.
Requirements
* Qualified social worker with experience in Children with Disabilities.
* Strong communication skills, emotional intelligence and the ability to manage challenge.
* Fluency Duty: ability to converse in English as per Part7 of the Immigration Act2016.

About the team
Our team is passionate about ensuring that all disabled children are valued, heard and supported to thrive. We work long term with children and young people with severe and profound disabilities across a range of areas, including Children in Need, Child Protection and Children in Care. We collaborate with special schools, continuing healthcare, CAMHS, community nursing teams, SEND colleagues and our dedicated Occupational Therapy service.
