Description

Wilson Bulk Transport Ltd is part of a family owned and managed group of transport companies with a late model, well presented and maintained fleet of trucks. Our head office is in Tinwald, Ashburton.

We are seeking an experienced Class 5 driver to join our bulk team based out of our Tinwald yard. Prior experience would be an advantage, but we’re not afraid to teach an old dog new tricks.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

* Ensuring all product carted is loaded and delivered in a safe and timely manner.
* Ensuring that the gear being used is properly maintained and operated, fit for purpose and looks the part.
* Being an ambassador for the company by maintaining good relationships with our customers and other staff members (in other words, being a good bugger).

Position requirements:

* Be physically fit and able to carry out the rigors of a fast moving, rural based transport.
* Be prepared to get your hands dirty.
* Be able to follow instructions accurately but must also be capable of using initiative and common sense when plans change.
* A reasonable understanding of practical Health & Safety.
* Some degree of computer literacy.
* Some geographical knowledge of the Canterbury area would be a benefit.
* No two days are ever the same, so the successful applicant will need to be flexible with their workdays and be prepared to work weekends when the need arises.
* We have a fleet of late model Isuzu and DAF 9-axle HPMV units and a lot of other cool stuff that is designed to make our drivers lives easier.
* Full, clean Class 5 licence, and while an F & W endorsement would be awesome, it’s not a deal breaker.
