Support Worker
West Lothian Outreach (Deans, Livingston)
£12.60 per hour
Part-time, Permanent – 32 hours per week

At Real Life Options, our Support Workers are at the heart of everything we do—delivering person-centred, flexible, and responsive care to adults with learning disabilities across West Lothian. Whether supporting someone at home or out in the community, you’ll be helping them live life on their terms.
Responsibilities
You will be supporting one adult with learning disabilities to ensure the running of their home, health and wellbeing. This will include:
* Personal care
* Medication administration
* Housework, shopping, cooking
* Maintaining and developing each person’s independent skills
* Providing social support daily and weekly to encourage involvement and independence within the community
* Supporting the individual to identify and work towards meaningful outcomes
* Working with care plans and risk assessments to ensure continued accurate support
* Liaising with medical professionals when required
* May be asked to work across other Real Life Options services in West Lothian
Shift Pattern: Various shifts on a rolling 3-week rota, including a sleepover shift. Shifts include:
* 7am until 3pm
* 7am until 11pm
* 11pm until 7am – Sleep over
Experience and Qualifications
* Demonstrable track record of working with people with learning disabilities in a supported living and enabling environment
* Commitment to the principles of community care
* Understanding of development needs of adults with a learning disability (social, personal, physical, occupational and leisure)
* Understanding of the needs of people with disabilities, including learning disabilities, multiple disabilities and complex needs
* An enhanced Adult PVG will be required for this role
